Engineering challenge
Engineering & energy
Work at your pace. Take a break between stages; there is no countdown.
You need: paper, a pencil and this lab. A helper is welcome for reading and discussion.Connect to what you know
You explored solar output. Now act as an engineer and make a fair comparison.
Understand it, step by step
- 1
Choose a question before collecting numbers: “Which angle gives more output under the same light?”
- 2
Change one variable: angle. Keep light constant. Record both settings and both outputs so someone else can repeat the comparison.
- 3
A model gives evidence about its assumptions, not proof that a real car will behave identically. State one limitation alongside your conclusion.
Test A: light 70, angle 0. Test B: light 70, angle 60. This isolates angle. Changing light to 100 in B would mix two effects.
Pause and predict
If you change light and angle together, can you tell which caused a difference?
