Test and improve
ZTL Capstone
Work at your pace. Take a break between stages; there is no countdown.
You need: paper, a pencil and this lab. A helper is welcome for reading and discussion.Connect to what you know
Your prototype works for you. Test whether its instructions work for a reader, then make an evidence-based revision.
Understand it, step by step
- 1
Write a test task without explaining the solution. Predict what will happen. A helper can try it; if alone, read it as a new user and label the test as a self-test.
- 2
Record an observation: what was clicked, misunderstood or successfully explained. “It is cool” is an opinion, not evidence of the main function.
- 3
Change one relevant part, then repeat the same task. Keep the original and revised result so you can explain the improvement honestly.
Task: find the circuit checks. Observation: the reader did not understand “Continue”. Change: “Show the three checks”. Retest: they chose it without prompting. This tests clarity, not electrical safety.
Pause and predict
What would count as evidence that your revision helped?
